PhD Representative, 20-21

Part of the PhD Representative team to represent our interests at an institutional level and orchestrate events for PhDs to gather and experience community.

This was a challenge during the pandemic but we were able to safely help new students meet each other and help administration to define a career office goal for all LIN employees.

SimpleNeuro Blog Articles

This blog was created by a group of Phd candidates at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology as an outlet for expression for scientists. Our goal was to provide a comfortable platform by which we could all explore our creativity, science communication, and self-expression as scientists. It has since hosted authors from outside our institute and is open to all levels of scientist who would like to write or create content. Below are the articles I have written (or co-written).

Long Night of Science, Magdurg 2017,18,19,

Long Night of Science is a university-wide event for community engagement with science. The CortXplorer Lab put on an interactive demonstration from 2017 to 2019 aimed toward community and especially kids. We created a "human" shuttle box experiment where one person would stand in one of two compartments—denoted by tape—and learn when they had to cross to the other side. We provided unknown "go" and "no-go" stimuli and played a comical buzzer sound for wrong choices. At the end they got their performance score and a friendly explanation of our behavioral research.
